[/b] And they'd better blow me a-fucking-way.So you came to become a better seed in the arts of character applications? : D That's grrrreat!~ But first, a few basic things...
Okay, if you have no idea what I mean by "character application" or "c-sheet" then take a look at the guides around the site. Shoe made about three {one for every character you'll be allowed to make}, and they can really help you out if you're confused. c:
Here comes the rules:
NO copy + paste: If you resort to copy and pasting then obviously you don't know your character too well. It just shows us that you're un-fit to roleplay this character. (Of course this is just refering original character applications.)
[Shoe]: Oh, and I will check. There is a thing called 'Google' and it will find me all I need. If I feel that your application is impersonal, I will be checking. I need to see 'you' in your applications.
Grammar, spelling etc mistakes are frowned upon Speek gud engrish plz.
[Shoe]: If I catch too many spelling mistakes, I will not accept, period. No questions asked. If I see too many grammar ones, I will not accept, period. But I'll show you where I saw them. That is only to help you.
Do not copy other applications from other Death Note proboards sites. Copy + Paste has never been your friend. You may have thought so, but it was just built on deceit.
[Shoe]: Haven't we already gone over this? If I catch you, it's a day ban and a rejection of the character.
Getting accepted: Only Admin's/Mod's are allowed to accept a character application. If you're just a member you don't have that authority. BUT as of right now the grader of character applications are: Shoe.
[Shoe]: Shoe's opinion overrules all. Want to know why? I've got experience, baby. I'm not going to take shit from you guys. Your applications don't have to be as long as mine - but anything shorter than L's gets the boot.
You can only apply for a character at a time: Other people here enjoy roleplaying just as much as you do. Apply for a character at a time.
[Shoe]: Honestly - I don't like to see cluttered boards of awful. However, I will allot you two characters at a time - one official, and one made-up. Any extras will be deleted before they are looked at.
You may play two official characters: Mmm. As of right now, you may play two. Period. Death Note is kinda small, and I don't want to see someone take Mello, Light, Matsuda, Mikami, Rem, and Watari all at the same time. That's just stressful.
Powerplaying;; I know this rule pays more attention to roleplaying than applications, BUT...! Powerplaying is an absolute NO-NO. Don't roleplay or chatplay or whateverplay someone else's character without there permission and a proper character application. In-direct powerplaying could be: Killing their character with out consulting them - example: I'm kira and I has a death note! RWAR!~ *scribble scribble* HA, YOU BE DEAD.. That's bad. Powerplaying would also be: having that character say something in response to your character, having another character DO something in response to character etc. Anything of the sort. It's frowned upon, and a powerplayed post will be deleted.
Yay!~ It's example time.
Here's an example of a power-played ROLEPLAY:
Person number one: Misa stood there before the suspicious looking figure....*details details...*
Person number two: "Misa, I don't have time for your games!"
"But Light, I-" "Misa, shut up!" Light wipped out his Death Note and began to violently scribble Misa's name down. "Light! No! I-" He punched Misa...*details...cry..details* Misa died... "Good-bye Misa...." Light said as he... -/crappy roleplay-
As you can see everything was in red during that 'roleplay'. Everything that was considered powerplay was in regular black font. (Sorry for all of you LightxMisa fans, I was seriously bored and didn't know what to type. x3' I seriously ADORE Misa!~)
Literacy~♥ Literacy is a MUST. We understand if you're not very good at roleplaying. It's common. ^^ But please use English words. NO chat speak. A common lol or lmao is A-Ok but when you talk like: i c wut u mean but i dont c y i cant b dat character. i lyk her alot.. I'd go crazy if everyone spoke/typed like that. x3 Please type like humans, because we all are. c: ~♥
[Shoe]: As a note, if I see chatspeak in your application in any area besides the ooc parts, or as an obvious joke, it will be rejected. I can't stand chatspeak. Ew.
Overpowered OC's: Overpowered characters are rejected. Just rejected. I'd be kind enough to point out the areas that need a little 'dimming down', but the rest is up to you. I've seen c-sheets where characters have immunity to death notes, or were born with shinigami eyes, or can even see shinigami without having once touched a death note. It's just flat out rejected.
[Shoe:] UNLESS UNLESS UNLESS.
Your character is a Half-Breed. They have special powers that I will be outlining. This does not mean they can spit fireballs out of their eyes, but they can have certain small powers.
And yes, I will allow some beautifully written and delicious characters be Half-Breeds. Some.
Underpowered OC's: I can't see this being a problem, but, we can't have your character being a defenseless twit who get's in everyone's way. And, no, underpowered characters do not balance out overpowered characters.
Apprentice's and Mentor's: By apprentice I mean like the ratio Misa:Light. By mentor I mean by the ratio Light:Misa, or Light:Mikami. If you'd like your OC to be an apprentice, or mentor to a certain character you'd have to consult the roleplayer of that character. You'd also have to discuss certain aspects of your application with the roleplayer of that character.
[Shoe:] Seeing how this is a little confusing, I will be writing section on it. Check it out if you have any problems.
